31 Women: Paulette Dalpes

Dean Paulette Dalpes

An incredible advocate for equity and access to higher education, Dr. Paulette Dalpes is the Dean of the Students for Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn, New York.  She has served on the NASPA Community College Advisory Board, as faculty for NASPA Undergraduate Fellow Program and the Alice Manicur Symposium.

Paulette has served on several boards in K-12 administration and policy in addition to working with Adult Education and English as a Second Language. She has worked in academic support and with TRiO grant programs. Her commitment to creating more access is evident in her work with the first charter school in Holyoke, Massachusetts, which serves predominantly low -income and Latino students, as well as her work with access programs at institutions of higher education. As a first generation college student herself, she has continued to promote and lead the efforts of secondary and post-secondary education.

It was said about her, “Her work with community colleges is bolstered by a commitment to strengthen the educational pipeline for disadvantaged students in the surrounding community within which she works.”

Thank you, Dr. Dalpes for all of your commitment and leadership in higher education.
